Homeowners in Reno face unique challenges when planning gutter projects. Nevada's desert climate, winter storms, and elevation changes all affect material choices and installation costs.

2026 Reno gutter pricing at a glance

For quick reference, typical installed costs in Reno and Sparks for 2026:

Aluminum seamless — $8 to $12 per linear foot installed, depending on gauge and color.

Heavy-duty aluminum (.032" commercial grade) — $10 to $15 per linear foot installed.

Galvanized steel — $10 to $16 per linear foot installed.

Copper — $24 to $40 per linear foot installed.

Zinc — $30 to $48 per linear foot installed.

A typical single-family Reno home with 180 linear feet of gutter costs $1,500 to $2,700 in aluminum, or $4,500 to $7,200 in copper.

Downspout pricing

Downspouts are usually quoted separately or bundled as 'installed' in the linear foot price. Standalone:

2×3 aluminum downspout — $80-130 installed each.

3×4 aluminum downspout (recommended for Reno monsoons) — $110-170 installed.

Copper round downspouts — $280-480 installed each.

Most homes need 4-6 downspouts. Larger homes with multiple roof planes need more.

Leaf guard pricing

Adding leaf guards during installation:

Snap-in surface-tension guards — $4-6 per linear foot extra.

Micro-mesh guards (premium) — $6-10 per linear foot extra.

Reverse-curve systems — $8-12 per linear foot extra.

Retrofit onto existing gutters costs 20-40% more than adding during initial install.

What affects your specific quote

Beyond linear footage, these factors change your number:

Home height — two-story homes require taller ladders, extra safety measures, and more labor time than single-story.

Access — if trucks can't park near the work area (steep driveways, trees, HOA restrictions), the crew works slower.

Complexity — each inside corner and outside corner adds labor time. A simple ranch with four corners costs less per foot than a cut-up custom with 12 corners.

Fascia condition — pre-existing damage adds cost for repair.

Color and finish — standard whites cost least; custom factory colors slightly more; copper penny aluminum highest in the aluminum tier.

Hidden costs to ask about

When comparing quotes, make sure each includes:

Old gutter removal and disposal, all fasteners and hangers, mitered or welded corners, downspout elbows and extensions, splash blocks, leaf guards (if included), workmanship warranty, and a water-flow test before sign-off.

A suspiciously low quote often excludes items that a normal contractor includes — and adds them back as 'upcharges' during the project.
